Tinsman Tops in Pure Stocks


Jeremy Tinsman won the Pure Stock feature Friday night making him the first to win in late models, sprint cars, and pure stocks, timing second.

Finishing order: Tinsman; Joe Shifflett; Budd Reitnauer; Trevor Feathers; Andrew Tyson; and Dwain Welsh.

JP Breaks Through

J. P. Welsh of Winchester, Virginia picked up his first win of the season topping an eighteen car field making him the 4th winner in 5 races this year. Heat winners were Mike Parrill, Sr.; Frenchy Bennington; and Jason Lineweaver. Fast time was set by Parrill, Sr. with a 2.386 second qualifying lap.

Tinsman Wins Wild Sprint Feature


Dwain Welsh started the Sprint Car night off with fast time of 2.728 seconds in a 12 car field with Heats going to Jeremy Tinsman and Jason Lineweaver. C-Main winner was Randy Ritter. B-Main winner was Brad Bennington with Ritter, Andrew Tyson, and Mike Franklin also transferring to the feature.


The wild and woolly feature found seven lead changes with 4 different drivers with Tinsman making a Lap 80 pass for the lead and win and Ritter going from the lead to fourth over the last 20 laps. Lap Leaders: Tinsman (Laps 1-2); Bennington (Lap 3); Lineweaver (Laps 4-28); Tinsman (Laps 29-34), Lineweaver (Laps 35-69); Ritter Laps 70-80) and Tinsman (Laps 80-100).

Frenchy Wins Black Friday




Brad "Frenchy" Bennington of Winchester, Virginia survived the largest field ever assembled at The Cave Friday night claiming the 3rd Annual Black Friday 100. Steve Welsh of Berkley Springs, West Virginia started off the night with fast time of the 23 cars with a time of 2.487 seconds earning him the pole position in Heat #1. Welsh could not convert pole position into a transfer spot as Bennington would win the heat to earn the pole for the feature. Other heat winners were Joe Shifflett, Jason Lineweaver, and J.P. Welsh.

C-Main saw Tyler Williamson taking the lead on Lap 38 to secure the transfer to the B. B-Main had Steve Welsh and Tyler Williamson finishing 1st and 2nd to transfer to the feature. With six lead changes among 4 different drivers this one set the stage for the main event. The Feature had six lead changes among three different drivers. Lap Leaders were: J.P. Welsh (Laps 1-3); Frenchy (Laps 4-54); Joe Shifflett (Laps 55-70); J.P. Welsh (Laps 71-74); and Frenchy (Laps 75-100).

Shifflett Wins Wild Pure Stock Feature


Joe Shifflett survived 9 lead changes between three drivers to capture the pure stock feature Friday night at The Cave. Shifflett won his heat race and missed being top qualifier by .004 seconds to Jason Lineweaver who had a fast time of 2.462.


Heat winners for the night were Lineweaver, Shifflett and Randy Ritter. C-Main winner was Nick Canfield and B-Main winner was Mikey Franklin.

Shifflett Wins Dixie Cash Race #1



Joe Shifflett of Martinsburg, West Virginia led flag to flag Saturday at The Cave Speedway taking the checkers in the first of four Dixie Cash Sprint races.


J. P. Welsh set fast time of 2.758 to start on the pole in Heat One but Shifflett would take the lead on Lap 7 and lead until the end. Heat #2 had Andrew Tyson winning a wild race that had 6 lead changes among Tyson, Williamson, and Reitnauer.


B-Main winner was Frenchy Bennington over Tyler Williamson, J. P. Welsh, and Bobby Jones. Lap leaders were J. P. Welsh Lap 1, Dwain Welsh (Laps 2-7); J. P. Welsh (Laps 8-13); Tyler Williamson (Laps 14-49) and Frenchy Bennington (Lap 50 to the finish).


When the Feature rolled Shifflett made it plain this race was not even going to be close as he ran off and hid, topping 2nd place J. P. Welsh by 8 laps. Frenchy Bennington was 3rd, followed by Andrew Tyson, Bobby Jones, and Tyler Williamson.

Lineweaver and Tyson Take Checkers At The Cave



Jason Lineweaver captured his first late model win at The Cave Friday night in only his third attempt. Jason's night got off to a good start by setting fast time at 2.468 over a field of nineteen cars.

In the Feature, Jason Lineweaver started fourth and led flag to flag, nipping Joe Shifflett by three feet at the finish. The final finishing order was: Jason Lineweaver, winner; Joe Shifflett, 2nd; Mike Parrill, Sr., 3rd; Jeremy Tinsman, 4th; Tyler Williamson, 5th; and Frenchy Bennington, 6th.

Sprint car action found Frenchy Bennington, Mike Franklin, and Trevor Feathers winning their heat races to earn starting spots in the feature.

C-Main winner was Andrew Tyson. B-Main winner was Jason Lineweaver with Andrew Tyson finishing 2nd and Jeremy Tinsman coming in 3rd.

The sprint car feature found Andrew Tyson squeezing out the win by only 3/4 of a lap over Bennington followed in third by Tinsman with Mike Franklin, Jason Lineweaver, and Trevor Feathers finishing out the field.

Parrill and Lineweaver Tops At The Cave




Defending track champion Mike Parrill, Sr. of Winchester, Virginia kicked off the new racing season at The Cave Speedway with a win Friday night topping a strong field of 17 racers. After setting fast time of 2.634 in qualifying, Parrill used his pole position to lead the Phil and Jerry's Heat Race #1 flag to flag.

Null's Machine Shop Heat Race #2 was won by J.P. Welsh after taking the lead from Joe Shifflett on Lap 5 and led until the checkers.
Dark Moon Technology Heat Race #3 had three different leaders with Dwain Welsh taking the lead from Tyler Williamson on Lap 14 to earn the win.

D-Main Results: Lee Canfield, Budd Reitnauer, Nick Canfield, Jeff Yost
