Shifflett Remains Untouchable


Joe Shifflett of Martinsburg, West Virginia remained undefeated in Sprint Car action Friday night at the Cave topping the 9 car field. Heat winners were Frenchy Bennington and Jason Lineweaver. B-Main sent Randy Ritter, Matt Williamson, Steve Welsh, and Shifflett on to the feature.
Feature results: Joe Shifflett; Matt Williamson; Jason Lineweaver; Frenchy Bennington; Steve Welsh; and Randy Ritter. Laps led: Lineweaver (Laps 1-4); Bennington (Laps 5-26); and Shifflett (Lap 27 to finish).
Fast time for the night was matt Williamson at 2.564.
Next up for the Sprint Cars will be Friday night, January 112008 for the third race in the Dixie Cash Series $50 to win. **NOTE: This is a schedule change. This race was originally scheduled for Saturday, January 12, 2008.

Frenchy's On Fire



Frenchy Bennington extended his point lead Friday night by winning his heat and taking the win in the 3rd Annual Santa Claus 100. Fast time in the 18 car field also went to Bennington with a time of 2.366 (Top 9 in time trials were separated by .102 seconds). Frenchy is so hot right now that he missed the 50/50 by only one ticket.

This was by far the most competitive race at the Cave this year with 1st and 6th positions separated by 4 laps. That is less than 10 seconds after 100 laps.

After taking next week off the Cave will be back in action Friday night, January 4, 2008, with the 4th Earl Grimm Memorial presented by WRK (Welsh Race Kars). Enjoy your week off, regroup and lets give ol' Earl a good show.

Shifflett Is Two For Two in Dixie Cash Series




Joe Shifflett and Alan Sagi turned the Dixie Cash Series Race Number Two into their own little playground Friday night, swapping the lead several times before Shifflett made a late race pass to hold off Sagi for the win and taking $50 back to West Virginia and securing a $25 bonus for winning two of four in the Series.
