Clark Gains Momentum Heading Into The World

Travis Clark picked up the victory on Saturday evening in the Pure Stock feature, but more importantly he gained valuable seat time on the track surface that would closely resemble the one he and the other racers would encounter during the Late Model portion of the program. Clark got out of the chute quickly, setting a blazing fast time of 2.42 seconds to secure the pole of the first of two heats. Jimmy McFarland tried to wrestle the lead away from Clark in the first heat, but the all important pole position would allow Clark to stay low enough to fend off any challenges he would encounter. The second heat saw Junior Cooper dodge bullets from a pair of Moonshiners in the form of Alan Sagi and Joe Shifflett to claim the victory. Proving he's not afraid of heights, "The Maryland Outlaw" Bobby Jones climbed the ladder out of the C main and into the B, where he along with Sagi, Shifflett, and McFarland all punched tickets to the feature. To begin the feature, Clark inched by Cooper into turn three and never looked back and the field followed suit with the feature finishing just as it began with Clark leading them to the line. Pure Stock rundown- 1st Travis Clark, 2nd Junior Cooper, 3rd Alan Sagi, 4th Joe Shifflett, 5th Bobby Jones, 6th Jimmy McFarland.
